Twin City Spinners

It's time to erase the old image of square dancing from school days and television. Today's dancing is done to great music from the best of Country, Rock, Disco, Gospel, Hip-Hop, and Bluegrass! Best of all, there are new people to meet, friends to make, events to attend. Nothing puts a smile on your face faster than a great dance, and Twin City Spinners are always smiling!

This is an activity that is drug, alcohol and smoke free. You can make new friends, forget your troubles and get some exercise! Join us any Thursday evening and get a sample of this great group, or come on any community dance night for a full hour of dancing.

History

Twin City Spinners started dancing in September 2011 at the Martel Elementary School in Lewiston, Maine. Thanks to the generosity of of the administration of the school, the club was able to dance weekly.

The club's first public event was held at the Great Falls Balloon Festival where 4 squares of first-timers and angels danced in the rain. Open house was also well supported with over 6 squares in attendance - lots of help from neighboring clubs. The first class included 16 first-timers, 8 reviewers, and 8-12 angels.

The Inaugural Dance was also a great success with over 10 squares from 15 clubs in attendance!! Thank you to clubs from Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Subsequent dances have drawn at least 6 squares.
